Değini, Wittgenstein'ın felsefenin kendine özgü doğası hakkındaki anlayışının bir ifadesidir. Malcolm, Wittgenstein'ın felsefî düşüncesi ile dinî düşüncesi arasında, açıkla-maya yönelik tutumla ilgili bir benzetme olduğunu öne sürmektedir. O, daha sonra ortaya çıkacak başka analojiler de olduğunu düşünmektedir. The remark is an expression of Wittgenstein’s conception of the peculiar nature of philosophy. Malcolm proposes that there is an analogy between Wittgenstein's philosophi-cal thought and religious thought, in respect to the attitude towards explanation. He thinks there are other analogies which will emerge later on. In subsequent chapters, Malcolm will provide illustrations of explanation that are common in philosophy and he will try to describe Wittgenstein’s attitude toward those explanations, as it presents itself in his treat-ment of specific philosophical problems. Finally, I will summarize the analogies, as they appear to him, between Wittgenstein’s view of philosophy and some characteristic features of religious thinking. This article is a translation of the first part of Malcolm's work about Wittgenstein's religious attitude. This describes Wittgenstein's experiences during certain periods of his life.
