Öz

17. yüzyılda bilimsel devrimlerin cereyan etmesiyle birlikte Avrupa’da bilimsel ve kültürel havza çok boyutlu bir paradigma değişikliğine gitmiştir. Aydınlanma düşüncesi ile birlikte Avrupa’daki hâkim bilimsel paradigmalar üzerinde yepyeni tartışmalar başlamıştır. Bu tartışmalar neticesinde yeni kuramlar ortaya çıkmış ve bu kuramların nelerle geliştiği üzerine teoriler üretilmiştir. Pozitivist bilim geleneği her alanda birikimsel ilerlemeci fikrini savunmakta fakat öte yandan da birikimsel ilerlemeci anlayışın yanlış olduğuna ilişkin teorilerde ortaya çıkmaktadır. Thomas Kuhn bilimsel kuramların birikimsel ilerlemeci bir biçimde değil devrimsel boyutta ilerlediğini savunan isimlerden birisidir.

With the scientific revolutions in the 17th century, the scientific and cultural basin in Europe underwent a multidimensional paradigm change. With the thought of the Enlightenment, new discussions began on the dominant scientific paradigms in Europe. As a result of these discussions, new theories have emerged and theories have been produced on what these theories have developed. The positivist science tradition defends the idea of cumulative progressivism in every field, but on the other hand, theories emerge that the cumulative progressive approach is wrong. Thomas Kuhn is one of the names who argue that scientific theories progress in a revolutionary way, not in a cumulative progressive way.
