TÜRKİYE’DE GAZETECİLİĞİN AKADEMİLEŞMESİ BAĞLAMINDA İLK GAZETECİLİK ENSTİTÜSÜNÜN KURULUŞU / Establishment of the First Journalism Institute in the Context of the Academicization of Journalism in Turkey

Öz

Bu çalışmada esas olarak Türkiye’de gazeteciliğin akademiye taşınması konu edinmekle birlikte, mesele dönemin koşulları içinde ele alınmıştır. Bu bağlamda Türkiye’nin demokrasiye geçiş sürecinde gazetecilik alanında yaşanan gelişmeler üç başlıkta incelenmiş ve Gazetecilik Enstitüsü’nün kurulmasıyla gazeteciliğin akademi içine girmesi bu çerçeve içine yerleştirilmiştir. Türkiye’nin demokrasiye geçiş yılları olarak değerlendirilen 1945-1950 arasında gazetecilik alanında yaşanan üç gelişme şu şekilde sıralanabilir. (1) Siyasal sistemde yaşanan görece özgürleşmeden dolayı basın meslek örgütlerinde değişim yaşanması. (2) Siyasal sistemde yaşanan görece özgürleşmeden ve yeni küresel koşullara uyum çabasından dolayı gazetecilik alanının içerik açısından yeniden yapılanmaya başlaması. (3) Gazetecilik alanında yaşanan gelişmelerle koşut olarak bizzat gazeteciler tarafından talep edilmesiyle gazeteciliğin akademiye taşınması ve bu bağlamda İstanbul Üniversitesi İktisat Fakültesi bünyesinde Gazetecilik Enstitüsü’nün açılması.

In this study, although it is mainly about the transfer of journalism to academia in Turkey, the issue was handled within the conditions of the period. In this context, the developments in the field of journalism during Turkey's transition to democracy were examined under three headings and the entry of journalism into academia with the establishment of the Journalism Institute was placed within this framework. Three developments in the field of journalism between 1945 and 1950, which are considered as the years of Turkey's transition to democracy, can be listed as follows. (1) Changes in professional press organizations due to the relative emancipation in the political system. (2) The restructuring of journalism in terms of content due to the relative liberation in the political system and the effort to adapt to new global conditions. (3) In parallel with the developments in the field of journalism, the transfer of journalism to the academy upon request by the journalists themselves, and in this context, the opening of the Journalism Institute within the Faculty of Economics of Istanbul University.
