Osmanlı maârifi II. Abdülhamid Hân zamanında istikrarı yakalamıştır. On dokuzuncu asrın ikinci yarısında maârif hayatına giren “mûsikî ve gına” dersleri için ortak bir kitap yazılması zarûreti ortaya çıkmıştır. Nota öğretiminin de yer aldığı bu tedrîsâta dair yazılan en önemli kitaplardan birisi de İsmail Kâzım Uz’un İbtidâî Nota Dersleri isimli eseridir. Bu kitabında yazar notanın, mûsikînin yazısı olduğu görüşünü paylaşır. Buna göre mûsikî ilmi, notayı tahsil etmekle öğrenilir ve nota ile kemâl bulur. Ayrıca mûsikî telif ve ika gibi iki önemli esastan oluştuğundan notanın da bu iki esasa binaen tahsil edilmesi gerekir. Bu makalede müzik eğitiminin düzenli, resmi ve herkesin kolayca ulaşabileceği bir aşamaya geçişi temsil etmesi bakımından bu dönemin en önemli kaynaklardan birisi olarak kabul edilen İsmail Kâzım Uz’un İbtidâî Nota Dersleri isimli eseri ele alınıp analiz edilecektir.

The education system of the Ottoman gained stability during the period of Sultan Abdulhamid II. The necessity of a mutual book occurred in the second half of the nineteenth century for the lessons of “music” and “tone” which were involved in education. One of the books written on this schooling is “The Primal Note Lessons” of Ismail Kazım Uz. The writer states in his book that the note is the script of music. According to this view, the musical theory is learned by studying the note, and it maturates with the note. Moreover, music consists of two significant bases as composition and rhythm; the note should be learned having regard to these two bases. In this article, one of the valuable resources written in this period about representing the transition to the process for music education to be regular, formal and easily reachable, Ismail Kâzım Uz’s book named The Primal Note Lessons will be analyzed.
