Abstract

The Ministry of National Education carried out the “Turkey Century Education Model” new curriculum study for compulsory courses at all levels of education and renewed the curricula. Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge (RCMK) programs were also renewed during this process. This study aims to compare and evaluate the curricula of the Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge (RCMK) course, which was published in 2024 and gradually entered into force, with the old programs in terms of structure, form and content. It was tried to observe how much and how these issues were reflected in the renewed programs with the claim of simplification, value and skill-oriented. It was tried to contribute to the program development processes by identifying the deficiencies. The program includes some positive changes. However, it has been criticized on some points such as being put into practice without a trial period, not giving the impression that it has been sufficiently studied, being far from the claim of simplification, and not being sufficiently promoted. We hope the criticisms will be overcome and better programs will be developed.
